Material Handler/Production Support 11pm-7am

Job Summary:

As a support position in the production area, you will be responsible for assisting the Machine Operator in the mixing area with staging drums of materials using a pallet jack, lifting and opening cases, cleaning and sanitizing industrial equipment, and assisting the operator with other duties as assigned.  This is a fast-paced position.  

This is a night shift position: Sun-Thurs 11:00pm-7:00am. Candidates must be able to work designated shift hours and overtime as needed. Starting pay is $12.01/hour. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supply and stage ingredients in the production area according to Materne’s specifications
  • Break down equipment with hand tools to clean and sanitize
  • Receive/inspect materials and accept or reject based on Materne’s specifications
  • Observe materials to identify contamination or foreign materials
  • Detect problems and troubleshoot
  • Operate industrial carts, power hand carts, and pallet jacks
  • Utilize FIFO 
  • Perform consumption transactions on the computer and complete paperwork
  • Perform job duties in a safe and food safe manner at all times

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand for an entire shift (8-12 hours)
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to utilize pallet jacks to move and stage ingredient containers

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED required

Experience:

  • Prior experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is preferred
  • Previous experience utilizing pallet jacks and/or hand carts is preferred
  • Previous experience working in the food industry is preferred

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (read, write, verbal)
  • Basic math skills, including competency with weights and measures
